Patient Terms & Telemedicine Consent

These Patient Terms set out your agreement when you book and attend a consultation on Doctorz, and your consent to consultations — including video (telemedicine) — in line with the BMDC Telemedicine Guidelines (2020) and the Personal Data Protection Ordinance 2025.

1. What you are agreeing to

By booking a consultation you agree to these terms, our Terms of Service, and the handling of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your consent to consultation

You consent to consult with the doctor you book (in chamber or by video), to share the health information needed for that consultation, and to receive a digital prescription where the doctor issues one. Your consent is explicit, informed and revocable — you may decline or stop a consultation at any time.

3. Video (telemedicine) consultations

• Video consultations are provided only by BMDC-registered doctors and are intended for patients located in Bangladesh.
• The doctor may decide that your condition needs an in-person examination and ask you to visit a chamber or hospital.
• Video quality and connectivity can affect a consultation; the doctor will use their professional judgement on what can be assessed remotely.
• Telemedicine is not a substitute for emergency care.
• The doctor calls you at your appointment time and will try at least 2 times before you can be marked absent, each call ringing for about 30 seconds. Please be online and ready at your serial time.

4. Consultations are not recorded

Doctorz does not record video consultations. Audio and video are carried live between you and your doctor and are not saved, stored or kept by us afterwards. Nobody at Doctorz can watch or listen to your consultation, during or after it.

What is kept is the written record: the fact that the consultation took place, when it started and how long it lasted, and the prescription and notes your doctor writes. Those are covered by our Privacy Policy.

Neither you nor your doctor should record a consultation without the other person’s clear agreement. Recording someone without their consent may be unlawful and is a breach of our Acceptable Use policy.

5. Recorded consent

As required by the BMDC Telemedicine Guidelines, your agreement to a telemedicine consultation is recorded by Doctorz (for example, by your confirmation at booking). This record is kept securely and used only to show that consent was given.

6. Your responsibilities

Please give accurate information about your health, join from a private and suitable place, and follow the advice and prescription your doctor provides. Misleading information can affect the safety of your care.

7. Prescriptions

Prescriptions issued to you are stored in your account. You can remove a prescription from your view (it goes to a 30-day trash window first), and you always keep your own copy even if the doctor later removes theirs. See Data Retention & Deletion.

8. Patients under 18

A patient under 18 may consult only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms and the telemedicine consent on the minor’s behalf.

9. Your data and withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent or ask to access, correct or delete your data by contacting our data-protection officer (contact@doctorz.bd). Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and any dispute is subject to the courts of Dhaka.
